Methodology
How data-driven personal training actually works.
Most personal training in Toronto runs on a 1990s template. Show up, do the workout your trainer wrote on a clipboard, repeat for twelve weeks, hope the photo at the end looks better than the one at the start. The trainer logs sets and reps. Maybe weight on the bar. That's the data layer. Decisions about what to change next session are made on memory, vibe, and how tired you look.
Data-driven personal training inverts that. Before you train, we measure. Biosignature assessment maps body composition to hormonal patterns at fourteen sites. InBody 770 segmental scan tells us where lean mass is distributed and where fluid retention is hiding. VO2 max testing on the VO2 Master Analyzer gives us your cardiovascular ceiling and a fuel-utilization curve. Movement screening flags asymmetries before we load them. Sleep, resting heart rate, and recovery markers come in via wearables.
That assessment becomes the program. Not a template, not a sample plan with your name on top. The volume, intensity, exercise selection, and supplement protocol all key off your numbers. Two clients with the same goal who score differently on the assessment get different programs. That’s the difference. The same goal does not produce the same path.
Research published in JAMA (Mandsager et al., 2018, N=122,007) found that cardiorespiratory fitness — measured directly by VO2 max — is the single strongest predictor of long-term survival, exceeding traditional risk factors including blood pressure and cholesterol. According to the study, individuals in the least-fit quartile had 5× higher all-cause mortality risk than the top-performer quintile. That’s why VO2 max testing is a core part of every Arzadon assessment, not an optional add-on.
Every two weeks the numbers come back in. InBody rescans show whether the lean-mass curve is climbing the way the model predicted. Biosignature follow-ups show whether the hormonal protocol is working. If something is off, the program adjusts before the next session, not after twelve weeks of drift. This is how we ship a 97% measurable-results rate while most personal training studios in Toronto don't track results at all.
First 90 days
What your first three months actually look like.
Week 1 - Assessment and baseline
A 90-minute health assessment captures your starting point across 40+ data points. Biosignature, InBody, VO2 max if relevant, movement screen, training history, nutrition, sleep, stress. We talk through goals and timeline honestly. Twelve weeks doesn't fix every situation; we'll tell you when sixteen or twenty is the right number.
Weeks 2-4 - Build the engine
The first block is structural. Movement quality, work capacity, neural patterning, foundational strength. Most clients see lean mass climb 1-2 lbs and visible composition shifts in weeks three and four - not from fat loss yet, but from glycogen, hydration, and posture changes. Nutrition runs on a calibration phase, not aggressive deficit.
Weeks 5-8 - The real adaptation
Block two is where most of the documented transformations happen. Volume goes up, intensity comes online, the metabolic protocol shifts. InBody rescan at week six gives us the first real signal that the model is calibrated correctly. If it isn't, the program adjusts. Sleep and recovery markers stay in the dashboard.
Weeks 9-12 - Peak and consolidate
Final block. Strength PRs, body-composition photographs paired with the InBody data, and a planning conversation about what comes next. Some clients re-up for another twelve weeks toward a different goal. Some shift into hybrid coaching for maintenance. Either way, you walk out with your numbers in hand and an honest read on what to do with them.
Compensation model
Why we pay our trainers on your outcomes, not your sessions.
In the standard personal-training business model, a trainer's pay scales with sessions delivered. The incentive is to keep you booked, not to make sure you're progressing. It's why so many clients drift through six-month packages without a clear measurement of what changed. The structure quietly rewards inertia.
Our trainers are paid on client outcomes. A measurable change in body composition, strength PRs, VO2 max improvement, or whichever target your assessment locked in. Hitting your numbers earns the trainer a bonus. Missing them costs the trainer money. That asymmetry changes how every session is run - the warm-up choice, the lift selection, the homework, the bi-weekly check-in. The same trainer who in another studio might pad sessions becomes the one in your corner pushing for the rescan.
We're not the first studio to talk about results-based pay. We are the first in Toronto we've found that publishes the model and ties it to a documented assessment battery. Most outcome-pay claims in fitness marketing turn out to be marketing. Ours is in the trainer contracts. Ask us about it on your consultation - we'll show you.
Personal training cost in Toronto
What personal training in Toronto actually costs.
Per-session personal training in downtown Toronto runs $90-$180 depending on the trainer's experience and the studio's overhead. The lower end is gym-floor trainers at chain clubs, working with templated programs. The higher end is independent specialists with advanced certifications. Arzadon sits at $120 per session for one-off bookings, $377/month for our hybrid coaching package which folds in unlimited online programming, the assessment battery, and bi-weekly check-ins.
The number that gets argued about online - "is personal training worth it?" - misses what you're actually buying. Per-session pricing makes the comparison feel like a coffee question: $120 versus the $30 monthly gym membership. That's not the right frame. The right frame is whether you'll achieve the body-composition or performance change you're after, on your own, in any reasonable timeframe. For 70%+ of people who've been training without a coach for six months or more, the honest answer is no.
Our hybrid model exists because the per-session math punishes consistency. Clients who only book when work calms down train inconsistently and stall. The all-inclusive monthly removes that friction - you have programming, sessions, and check-ins regardless of whether this week is busy. The $377 number works out to less than $90 per in-person session for most clients, with the assessment, programming, and accountability layered on top.

Free consultation
What happens when you book the free consultation.
Forty-five minutes, in-studio at 460 Richmond St W. We tour the space, do a fifteen-minute movement screen, and have an honest conversation about your goals, training history, and what's actually realistic in your timeframe. You leave with a measurement plan, an estimate of how long the result you're after will take, and a clear sense of whether we're the right studio for it. Sometimes we're not, and we'll tell you that. Referring out is part of the job.
You don't need to come prepared. We'll ask the right questions to surface what matters. Bring training clothes if you want to actually move during the screen, not just talk. Most consultations end with a tour of the equipment, a look at the InBody and VO2 Master setup, and time to ask anything. There's no pressure to sign on the spot - most of our clients take 24-48 hours and come back with a clear yes or a clear no. We prefer that.
Book the consultation here, or call (437) 237-7524. We respond within one business day, and most consultations get scheduled within 48 hours of inquiry.
