Body Composition Calculator

Where Would You Rank?#

Enter your most recent InBody readout (or a smart-scale estimate) to see how your body composition compares against population norms for your age and sex. The calculator interprets two metrics: body fat % percentile and fat-free mass index (FFMI) — the same lens our trainers use when designing recomposition protocols.

Calculator

Where would your body comp rank?

Enter your InBody readout (or a recent skinfold estimate). We translate body fat % and fat-free mass into the categories that actually matter for training programming.

Don't know your body fat %? An InBody 770 segmental scan plus a 14-site biosignature gives you a calibrated read in < 60 seconds. Smart-scale estimates from home BIA devices are typically off by ±3–5%.

Result

Body fat percentile rank

≥50th

Average

Median — typical for your demographic (males aged 30-39).

Body fat category

Average

Typical for the general population (18–24%). Limited visible muscular definition; usually associated with sedentary or moderately active lifestyle.

Fat-free mass index (FFMI)

20.8kg/m²

raw 20.7 · LBM 65.6 kg

Excellent

Multi-year resistance training response. Distinctly muscular without being extreme.

Composition-age estimate

Your body fat % is at-or-better-than median for the average male aged 30-39 — same as your chronological band.

Body composition is one biological-age marker. True biological age requires multi-marker assessment (cardiorespiratory fitness, joint health, hormonal panel).

(Int J Obes 2002) for FFMI normative ranges. Calculator returns lower-bound percentile bands and category-floor classifications, not interpolated rank. Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in the 40-point fitness assessment?

Our 40-point assessment includes InBody 770 body composition scanning, biosignature 14-site skinfold analysis, cardiovascular metrics (resting heart rate, blood pressure, HRV), strength testing, functional movement screening, joint range of motion evaluation, metabolic profiling, and hormonal indicator analysis. The exact tests depend on which assessment package you select.

How long does each assessment take?

The Body Composition & Metabolic Diagnostic takes approximately 90 minutes. The Athletic Performance Assessment and Longevity & Health Screen each take approximately 2 hours. The Clinical VO2 Max Diagnostic takes 1 hour. All assessments include a verbal debrief and a written summary emailed within 48 hours.

How often should I get retested?

We recommend reassessment every 8-12 weeks to track progress and adjust your training protocol. Clients on our transformation programs receive bi-weekly InBody scans as part of their membership, with full reassessments at key program milestones.

What should I bring to my assessment appointment?

Wear comfortable athletic clothing. Avoid eating a large meal within 2 hours of your appointment. Stay hydrated. If you are doing VO2 max testing, avoid caffeine and intense exercise for 24 hours prior. Bring any previous fitness testing results you may have for comparison.
